I've always wanted to go to
Vietnam.
Well, maybe not back when the American War was going on from about
1965-1975, but ever since I started hearing all the stories from fellow
travelers about how beautiful the country is and how friendly the
Vietnamese people are. For the past 10 years I've had the burning desire
to go and see for myself.
So this past winter I loaded up my backpack and headed for The 'Nam. I
was expecting much.
I was not disappointed.
What a great country!! I had a wonderful time.
On the following pages are some of the pictures I took when I was
over there from mid-January to mid-February, 2002. The pictures
of the landscapes just don't do the beauty of the countryside
justice. I am really hoping the pictures of the Vietnamese I met
along the way will in some small way show the dignity and
friendliness of the people. I'm
already planning on going back. |
