Most of these pictures were taken on January 8th 2005, or 13 days after the tsunami.

As of the first of March 2005 the cleanup and recovery were well on it's way, as was the rebuilding and planning for next season.

The only damage I saw at NB was this lone bungalow, which was right on the beach.

There was other damage as well and I'm waiting for a return email from a German guy who was actually at New Bungalow during the tsunami to get permission to use his pix here.

RS lost all its computers, altho the building still stands.

Without a doubt the worst story written on December 26th happened at KJL. The only luxury resort on the island OPENED for business a few hours before the waves struck.

Open/closed the same day. An estimated 50 million baht resort 80% destroyed.
