This beach, which I call North Beach (it's the northernmost beach on
the west side of Ko Pu) was just hammered by the tsunami. A lot of the
coral offshore ended up onshore and as you can see by the pictures there
was also a lot of rubbish thrown onto the beaches.
By far this was the worst hit beach. Billee, Luboa Hut, Ko Pu Valley,
and King Cabanas all suffered damage, and the beach was just ruined.
As of mid-March the beach was being cleaned up after a group of
farangs pooled their money and contracted a Ko Puian with a bulldozer to
bury all the junk.
I left Thailand before I had the chance to see the results of the work,
but it has got to be better than before.
